Because you need to know what you are getting into and what you aren’t. Mental wellness, growth and success looks different for everyone so you may rebel a bit or not like the options presented during advising and that is ok, yet all services are done with positive intent. Jax acknowledges her privilege of being a white, educated woman living on stolen land in a country that has offered her opportunities that aren’t available to everyone. Yet exploring our similarities and differences can lead to a more welcoming, inclusive and powerful experience. 

Confidential Services Yet Mandated Reporting

Working with me is like having a living locked diary. Unless you disclose intent to harm or share past harm to children, vulnerable adults or mandated crime reports such as an unreported murder, all that you tell me remains confidential, which means I won’t share that you or your business are working with me. If you choose to share with others that is perfectly fine (and encouraged when appropriate). If you select a marketing plan that has us sharing your business information on our platforms, you acknowledge that some people may make the connection that you are receiving marketing services with Just Jax Advising.

Life Changing but Not Therapy

Although Jax is a Licensed Social Worker, and many of these services focus on mental wellness, establishing a positive mindset, and may feel therapeutic in nature, working with Jax is not intended to be a substitute for therapy. No medical advice (other than potential encouragement to seek medical guidance) will be given and no diagnoses will be established even when working on individual growth and goals. You are welcome to disclose any current diagnosis you may have as you see fit if you feel it will make an impact on our work together.

No Legal Advice Will Be Given

As a certified mediator and someone that has worked many years in the criminal justice sector, some people assume legal guidance can be given and this is not the case. Jax is not an attorney and will not give answers on legality issues; however, encouragement to seek legal counsel may be shared when appropriate. Jax is also not your judge, jury or detective so coming to sessions being open and honest will result in the quickest, most effective growth. We are all just one decision away from being on the “wrong” side of court and you will not be judged for past decisions. 

Non-refundable Services and Termination

All services are to be paid in full prior to individual or family sessions. Business services may be invoiced on a specified date or after delivery based on initial agreement. Keynote and workshop payment will be agreed upon at time of confirmation. In the event services have been prepaid for ongoing sessions or monthly packages and you wish to end your contract early, no refund will be given; however, your prepaid sessions can be put on hold for up to one year to return for additional advising needs at no increase of fees. Service fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. Jax has the discretion to end services at any time for inappropriate behavior including lack of payment or disrespect. Canceled services without a 48-hour advance notice will be charged at the full rate.
